Experience The Gifts of Christmas
Written by Jeremy Jones. Published by OUTREACH, Inc.
Adapted for The “Exciting” Singing Hills Baptist Church
In a season often marked by frenzied busyness, Advent is an opportunity to set aside time to prepare our hearts and help us place our focus on a far greater story than our own—the story of God’s redeeming love for our world. It’s not a season of pretending or covering over—it is a season of digging deep into the reality of what it means that God sent His Son into the world. It is a season of expectation and preparation, an opportunity to align ourselves with God’s presence more than just the hectic season of buying and exchanging presents.
So, wherever you are on your own spiritual journey, you are invited to join this season. Advent is not necessarily a celebration of God coming to fix things—from broken computers to broken families to broken, hurting lives… Even though He does all that and more, Advent is a celebration of God coming to be with us. In the darkness, in the pain, in the chaos, in the frenetic frenzy of life, He shows up. And He makes a way.
As we explore the true gifts of Christmas over the next few weeks, we must strive to experience the true and living God. He is bigger than our greatest expectations or our deepest pains. His light shines in the darkness and bids us to draw near. As we do, we discover and realize the gifts He brings—but more so, we discover Him.
Join us for Wednesday Night Breakthrough as we discover the gifts of hope, joy, peace, love, and the ultimate gift - Christ. Let us take this opportunity to set aside time to prepare our hearts for the coming of the Lord. Click here for class information.

Wednesday, December 17, 2025 Experience the Gift of Joy (Philippians 4:4, Psalm 96:11–13, Luke 2:10-11)
Big Idea: This Advent season, as we experience the gift of joy, we’re reminded that true joy isn’t about ignoring our struggles or living in a "no worries" and apathetic mindset. Instead, it's a deep, abiding joy that comes from Jesus, who entered our world to bring good news of great joy to all people. This joy is resilient and enduring, even in the midst of life's most challenging moments. This lesson explores how we can anticipate, recognize, and choose this joy by living in gratitude, obedience, and a close relationship with Christ, allowing His joy to fill our hearts during the Christmas season.
